Appointments
Only administrators may appoint staff. Due to staff being at a potentially higher risk of being exposed to inappropriate content or abuse, all staff must be 18 years or older. All staff must also agree to keep private user information and non-public forum-related activities confidential.
There are five types of staff appointments: self-appointed, trust-appointed, merit-appointed, community-appointed, and paid-appointed. All appointments consider basic competence and good character a prerequisite. Except for paid-appointed staff members, others are unpaid volunteers with no time commitments.

- Self-appointed: A staff member was appointed by themselves (self-explanatory).
- Trust-appointed: A staff member was appointed primarily because they are a trusted acquaintance, friend, or relative of an administrator.
- Merit-appointed: A staff member was appointed primarily because they demonstrated sufficient merit locally on the forums.
- Community-appointed: A staff member was appointed primarily because other users elected them.
- Paid-appointed: A staff member was appointed as a hired independent contractor.
